Laptop computers have come a long ways since their introduction a relatively short time ago. Here is a look at some of their history and why they are so popular.
The personal computer first emerged in the late 1970s and found a following even with its limited applications. As digital technology advanced and microchips became smaller and faster, the use of computers became widespread with almost every office, school, hospital and business using them. As the form, features and uses of these computers continued to change with time, demand for more portable and personal computers arose. Eventually, these evolved into the virtual portable work stations that we know as laptop computers.
